With the MTFA, the winning team receives an outstanding track record for future activity in the event industry. The students from the Major Event Communication of the bachelor program tourism do their mentoring lecturer, Dr. med. Alexander Schmidt, particularly proud: Second place went to Anina Hess (Sargans), Sarah Bolter (Buchs SG) and Monique Schuler (Wangen SZ) to a team of tourism students from the HTW Chur.
The task for the award was to develop and present a concept for the opening of the new Hyatt Hotels and the associated Event Cathedral as part of the Circle project for two different events over two days. Both events should be geared to different target groups.
After a two-week preparation period, the finalist teams had 20 minutes each at the Seedamm Plaza in Pfäffikon to present their conference concept to a panel of six experts, followed by a five-minute question and answer session. The students not only had to convince the expert jury, but also a specialist audience of 110 people from the conference and event industry (MICE).
The winning team focused on creating an experience with a clear storyline. The two opening days for the Hyatt Hotel had been designed like a plane trip to convey the feeling of travel and anticipation. The invitation was designed as a boarding card and the three winners served as flight attendants.
